Learning Environments
TREASURE CHEST:
Reading Readiness will be the goal. The alphabet will be introduced by name, sound, and sign (American Sign Language). Language will be developed through listening to stories and verbal discussions.
Art projects will be designed to foster imagination and lay a foundation for written expression.
TREASURE MAP:
The children will be offered first-hand experiences that introduce them to the workings of a community. They will be exposed to learning centers that are designed to lay a foundation for understanding citizenship, economics, and family. The children will be encouraged to live and think God's way through the Bible verses and stories.
TREASURE ISLAND:
Group and individual activities will focus on the development of gross motor skills and sensory discovery. Music, nature, and the human body will be the themes from which activities will be selected. Socialization skills such as cooperation, sharing, and following directions are highlighted. These activities are enjoyed in a gymnasium.
